About ReadVeranda
A quiet reading room for books you already own or may lawfully access.
A reader, not a bookstore
ReadVeranda opens EPUB and PDF files in your browser. It does not sell books, provide a subscription catalogue or upload your collection. The included Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland sample lets you try a real EPUB before adding your own documents.
A book’s cover, chapters and formatting belong to its publisher. The reader adds practical controls around that content: navigation, supported appearance choices, bookmarks, search and personal notes. Availability depends on the document’s layout, text layer and permissions.
Your library stays with this browser
Collections, editable metadata and reading positions are stored locally. You can change a cover or description without rewriting the original ebook. Library backups include your original files and saved reading data, so you can keep an independent copy.
Local storage is not cloud storage. A different device, browser or website address has a different library, and clearing site data can remove it. Offline preparation makes the application available without a connection; it does not make browser storage permanent.
Built for different reading habits
The interface is available in English, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish and Japanese. Interface translation leaves your books and personal notes in their original language. Reflowable EPUBs offer typography and page-theme choices; PDFs retain their original page design. The guides explain these differences without promising conversion, OCR or unsupported formats.
