Cookies and local storage
Most saved information here is browser storage, not a tracking cookie.
What the application stores
IndexedDB holds imported ebook files, covers, editable metadata, collections, reading positions and annotations. localStorage remembers reading preferences, appearance and interface language. A service worker uses Cache Storage for the application, local fonts and reader dependencies needed offline. Original books stay in IndexedDB rather than the application cache.
These stores make the local reader work. They are not shared with other devices or sent to an advertising network. Their lifetime depends on your browser, available space, storage permissions and whether you clear website data.
Your storage choices
App & offline shows estimated website usage, browser quota and readiness. You can request persistent storage where the browser supports it, but permission is not a guarantee against deletion. To remove saved information, use your browser’s controls for this website after exporting a library backup. Clearing all site storage can remove books and notes as well as preferences and cached resources.
Private-browsing sessions can discard data when closed. Moving to a different browser or domain creates a separate storage area. Install the application only if useful to you; installation is optional and does not create cloud recovery.
Cookies for advertising or hosting
ReadVeranda currently loads no advertising or analytics scripts. No advertising-consent choice is being collected because advertising is disabled. The site owner must verify any cookies or request processing introduced by the live hosting and security configuration.
Before future public-page ads are enabled, the actual vendors, purposes, regional consent requirements and a way to revisit privacy choices must be disclosed. Where required for Google advertising, a Google-certified CMP must be integrated. An ordinary preferences menu is not a certified CMP. The library, reader and offline reading remain ad-free.
Operator and contact
The owner must publish the operator’s legal identity before public launch.
