Organize your ebook library and make safe backups
Make the library easier to use, then keep a copy outside the browser.
Organize without changing the original
Use favorites for quick access and custom collections for groups that overlap: a book can belong to more than one collection. Tags, genres and series provide other ways to filter. Search looks through library metadata rather than the complete text of every book; use reader Search for passages.
Book details let you edit the title, author, series, description and other supported fields or replace a cover. These are local library edits. The original EPUB or PDF is stored separately and is not rewritten merely because you change its display information.
- Add several supported files together and review each import result. A content hash detects the same file even if its name changed.
- Use Select for bulk tagging, collection assignment or deletion. Review the destructive confirmation before removing books.
- Open Backup & restore and choose the complete library or selected books. Save the downloaded archive somewhere independent of this browser.
Understand what a backup contains
A ReadVeranda backup includes original files, covers, edited metadata, collections, positions, supported annotations and reading preferences. It may therefore contain private quotes and notes. Store it with the same care as the books themselves and avoid sharing it as a harmless settings file.
Downloading an original book and exporting notes are useful separate actions, but neither replaces a complete library backup. Original downloads do not embed your edited library metadata into the ebook.
Restore by reviewing the preview
Choose a backup file and let validation finish before importing. Review individual entries and duplicate/conflict choices; do not assume a newer-looking archive should overwrite current notes. Existing data is not silently replaced. A large restore also needs sufficient browser storage.
After restoration, open a few books and check their saved places and notes. Keep the source backup until you have verified the result. To move devices, transfer the backup yourself and restore it in the destination browser; ReadVeranda does not synchronize the two libraries afterwards.
