Offline ebook reader for EPUB and PDF
A connection prepares the reading room. Your saved books can then stay with you when the connection goes away.
Prepare before disconnecting
Visit ReadVeranda while connected. Import the books you want to read into the local library, then open App & offline and wait for Ready for offline reading. That confirmation checks the application and reader resources, including the dependencies used for EPUB and PDF rendering.
Opening the homepage once is not the same as saving a particular book. The application cache holds code, fonts and reader assets. Imported documents and reading data live separately in IndexedDB. Keep using the same browser and website address; a different address has a different library.
Installation is optional
If your browser offers installation, you can add ReadVeranda as a PWA for a dedicated window or shortcut. Installation does not upload files, synchronize devices or guarantee permanent storage. A shortcut alone also does not prove that all offline resources finished downloading.
Once prepared, previously saved EPUBs and PDFs can reopen without the server. Cached interface languages are available too. Online help links and a book that has not been imported may still need a connection. Offline reading remains ad-free.
Plan for storage limits
Check estimated usage in App & offline and keep a downloadable library backup. Browser cleanup, eviction and private browsing can remove data even after installation. Updates wait for your choice and finish pending saves before reload. Reconnect when you want a new application version; do not clear the library merely because a network is unavailable.
